I developed a passion for science in 2010, when I decided to shift my career from a qualified translator to a registered veterinary nurse. After completing my veterinary nursing training in Poland, I moved to Scotland, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Parasitology from the University of Glasgow. During my undergraduate studies, I became interested in gut health and in the use of computing to solve biological questions, which led to me joining the Hall Lab as a PhD student in 2016. My research focuses on understanding how host-specific diet influenced evolutionary adaptation in bifidobacteria.
