My current role involves helping to run two clinical studies; PEARL and MOTION. Both studies are looking at the effect the microbiome has on the health of different groups of people.
My current role involves helping to run two clinical studies; PEARL and MOTION. Both studies are looking at the effect the microbiome has on the health of different groups of people.
I carry out patient visits and process samples in the lab, using flow cytometry, culturing and DNA extraction. PEARL is a longitudinal study to understand how gut microbes contribute to maintaining health during pregnancy and early life. MOTION is a longitudinal study in the over 60’s that aims to understand the role the microbiome plays in healthy ageing, and specifically in neurodegeneration.
I have a BSc in Infectious disease and microbiology from the University of Exeter, with a long-term goal of a PhD and contribution to infectious disease research. I began working in the Hall lab in October 2019.
