On 22nd July, Shab attended the Bioinformatics Open Source Conference (BOSC) 2017 organized by the Open Bioinformatics Foundation, a non-profit group dedicated to promoting the practice and philosophy of open source software development and open science within the biological research community, held in Prague.
After a quick road trip, all members of the Hall Lab arrived at Thetford Forest for a cordial lunch before embarking on climbing, swinging and crawling their way through the high rope obstacle courses at Go Ape.
Visiting PhD Lauren Carruthers – During summer 2017 I had the opportunity to visit the Hall Lab, based at the Quadram Institute in Norwich, to learn microbiome techniques to apply during my PhD in the Lamberton Lab at the University of Glasgow.
